The Chrome Never Stops

There was a guy painting a mural on the outside of a church in Sweet Home and I used to talk with him when I went on my evening walks. He was quite a skilled craftsman. He told me that someone had given him some art supplies including a number of oversized watercolor sheets. He saw my interest in watercolors and he gave me several sheets. They measure about 30″ x 40″ which is very large for a watercolor, and I thought I’d challenge myself to create an extra large painting. This larger-than-life detail of a Harley Davidson motorcycle motor was the result. This probably took me longer to paint than any other picture I’ve ever done because there are a lot of tiny detail in a very large area. I was quite relieved to finish it. The next painting I create on one of these oversized sheets of watercolor paper will have very different subject matter.
